1. Research the company: It is important to know the company’s history, mission, products or services, and culture. Being informed of these aspects will show the hiring manager that you are well prepared and that you take interest in their business.
2. Review the job description and requirements: Understand the responsibilities of the position and the qualifications required for the job. Then, ensure that you are in a position to motivate how your skills and experience can meet these demands.
3. Prepare answers to common interview questions: Research and prepare answers to common interview questions such as “Tell me about yourself”, “Why do you want to work for this company”, and “What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses.”
4. Come prepared with questions to ask the interviewer: Prepare a short list of 3/4 questions to ask the interviewer about the company, the role, and the team you will be working with. Find a balance though – you are the interviewee not the interviewer.
